Jason Nguyen
Jason Nguyen (he/him/his) is currently based in Tucson, AZ and is an advocate for music and performing arts education.
Outside of music, Jason is a Doctor of Pharmacy candidate at the University of Arizona and works as a pharmacy intern at the local poison center and hospital. He currently holds degrees in Psychology and History from the University of Arizona with minors in Music & Pharmaceutical Sciences, and a certificate in Data Science & Visualization.
He is a proud alumnus of the Pride of Arizona Marching Band and served as equipment manager for two years. During his tenure with the Pride of Arizona, they received the prestigious Sudler Trophy which is “awarded annually to a college or university marching band which has demonstrated the highest musical standards and innovative marching routines and ideas. He also participated in the University of Arizona Pep Band and Symphonic Band. Jason’s professional affiliations also include Tau Beta Sigma, Phi Mu Alpha, Kappa Psi, American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists and Student Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists.
His education is supplemented by ample performance experience, including three seasons as a contra player with the Louisiana Stars Drum & Bugle Corps and Breakthrough Indoor Percussion. He is also affiliated with Green Valley Concert Band in Sahuarita, AZ and Santa Cruz Summer Winds in Tucson, AZ as a tubist.
As an educator, Jason has assisted with local Tucson marching band programs as a visual and music technician. During his free time, Jason enjoys boxing and attending local sporting events for the Arizona Wildcats.
