Braedon Bomgardner

BRAEDON BOMGARDNER is an Educator and Freelance Performer based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. Braedon has performed with The Cadets, Fountain City Brass Band, The Hutchinson Symphony and the Butler University Opera Department. Braedon has also had a fruitful solo performer/clinician career, performing at various colleges in the country including: Central Michigan University, Kansas State University, Northwest Missouri State University, Murray State University, Kansas Wesleyan and Ohio State University. He is also an avid commissioner of new works for vibraphone and electronics. Braedon prides himself on creating memorable electro-acoustic performances that leave audience members entranced in the experience.

Braedon received his Bachelors in Music Performance from Kansas State University in 2022 where he studied under Dr. Kurt Gartner. During his time at KSU, he performed with their Wind Ensemble at the American Band Association in Colorado, and the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. He also performed two concertos during his time there. Braedon pursued higher education at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, where he graduated with his Masters in Percussion Performance under the direction of Kevin Bobo, Joseph Gramley, and John Tafoya. During his time there, he performed with the IU New Music Ensemble, Percussion Ensembles, where he performed at PASIC in 2023, Wind Ensemble, where he performed another concerto, and the NOTUS Choir where he premiered a piece with William Shatner. Braedon also spent his time collaborating with the Composition Department, premiering several works from IU Composition Students.

Braedon has an extensive teaching history, including teaching at six different high schools in the Kansas, Missouri, and Indiana areas. Braedon is currently on staff with The Seattle Cascades. River City Rhythm, ConneXus, and Fluer Winter Percussion. Braedon spends the majority of his time as a Percussion Specialist for the Center Grove School District, where he teaches the middle school Percussion Classes at Center Grove Middle School North, along with private lessons across both middle schools and high school. Braedon also serves as the Front Ensemble Coordinator for the Center Grove Marching Band, Indoor Percussion, and helps co-direct the JV Percussion Ensemble. During his time, Braedon helped bring Center Grove to their first Top Five Scholastic World WGI placement in 12 years in 2023.
