Irene Guggenheim-Triana

IRENE GUGGENHEIM-TRIANA (she/they) is a music educator and marching arts designer based in Silver Spring, Maryland. She is currently serving as the Instrumental Music Director at Springbrook High School, as well as the Lead Conductor for the Montgomery Public Schools Northwest All-County Band. Her prior teaching engagements include serving as the Assistant Band Director at Arsenal Technical High School, as an instructor for the Indianapolis Public Schools All-City Marching Band, and as a technician for the London High School Marching Band. Irene was a 2025 In-Step Fellow with the Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps, and the 2022 Program Coordination & Arts Administration Fellow with the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps. She currently serves on the Bluecoats Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Council, and has previously served in an advisory capacity with the Maryland Marching Band Association.

Irene received her undergraduate degree in Music Education with a certificate in Educational Ethics and Social Justice from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Her professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education, Women Band Directors International, the Maryland Music Educators Association, and the Sigma Alpha Iota International Women's Music Fraternity.
