Eric Dunnigan

ERIC DUNNIGAN first picked up percussion leading into his freshman year with the Irondale High School Marching Knights, and after the first season he knew this activity was something worth doing. Eric graduated from Irondale in 2015 with various years of marching experience playing aux, bass drum, and snare drum for marching band and drumline. After Irondale, Eric’s independent marching career started at Minnesota Brass on bass drum. The following winter, he received a bronze medal while playing aux with RCR. For the 2016-2018 summer seasons, he was on the bass line with River City Rhythm, and he was also part of the bass line that received a gold medal at DCI’s I&E Performance Showcase in 2017. For the following Winter seasons, he spent 2017 playing aux with MBI and 2018, where he was officially Worthy, playing bass here at RCR. He finished his time marching with the MBI bassline in 2019.

Eric has worked as a performing artist with RCR’s summer parade group, the Timberwolves’ PACKcussion from 2014-2019, and the Minnesota Vikings Skol Line for the 2022-2023 season.

Eric started teaching during his independent career in the fall of 2016, with helping hands at Coon Rapids and St. Francis. He continued teaching at St. Francis, but after two years at Coon Rapids, Eric switched gears to assist Rob Loahr at Anoka High School. In 2018, Anoka won the highest percussion award at Youth in Music in their division. He took over in the Fall of 2019 as Batterie Coordinator, while continuing to teach at St. Francis through the winter season of 2019. Eric returned to his alma mater, Irondale, in the Fall of 2019. He also served as a consultant for Quad City Percussion in 2020 leading into the Pandemic. Post pandemic, Eric continues to work with Irondale and River City Rhythm and helped Irondale achieve the PSA Gold Medal at the WGI World Championships this past Spring.

Eric is eager to work with the River City Rhythm Worthy Bass for the 2024 season and can’t wait to get the ball rolling. See you at auditions!
