Sam Peck

SAM PECK is incredibly thrilled to be rejoining RCR for his eighth season, and fifth season as director. A resident of St. Paul, Minnesota, Sam graduated from Irondale High School and has over two decades of experience in the marching arts- most of which was spent in the Minnesota marching community. Starting his career at Irondale High School, Sam has been involved in groups including Southwind, Minnesota Brass Inc., Minnesota Brass Indoor, Spirit of JSU, and Music City Mystique. Outside of competitive circuits, Sam has performed with the Minnesota Vikings Skol Line and the Minnesota Timberwolves PACKcussion.

In September 2012, Sam journeyed to the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego to become a United States Marine. As a Marine Musician, Sam studied at the Naval School of Music and was stationed with the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing in Miramar (San Diego, California). While there, he served as the Percussion Section Leader and was promoted to Sergeant. He was honorably discharged from the Marines in September 2016. In the spring of 2023, Sam graduated from the University of St. Thomas, where he earned a degree in Digital Media Arts.

As director, Sam hopes to create an atmosphere at RCR in which members achieve a sense of family and belonging while achieving higher standards of excellence in discipline, dedication, and achievement. “I want the members of RCR to develop the skills to be successful wherever their lives may take them, but always have the desire to return home.”
