Abbey Trach

ABBEY TRACH is an active music educator and performer in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is currently finishing up her Bachelor of Music Education degree at Grand Valley State University, planning to graduate in April 2023. While attending GVSU, Abbey has performed in the GVSU Wind Symphony, GVSU Symphony Orchestra, the GVSU Laker Marching Band, the NBA’s Grand Rapids Gold drumline, and several DCI and WGI ensembles. Currently, she is student teaching at Forest Hills Central High and Middle schools in Ada, MI for 7-12th grade band and teaching indoor percussion at Hudsonville HS.

Abbey hails from Norton Shores, Michigan where she began her marching career in 2013 at Mona Shores High School. She did not pick up cymbals, however, until the winter of 2019 at Genesis Percussion where she marched for two years before aging out of WGI with Redline in 2022. Her drum corps career started and ended here at River City Rhythm where she marched from 2019 to 2021, and this is her second year teaching the cymbal line here.
