Nicholas Krejci

NICHOLAS KREJCI is the Director of Bands at Butler Junior High School and Assistant Director of Bands at Glenbrook South High School. At Butler, he conducts the Cadet Band, Concert Band, and Jazz Band, and travels annually with the 8th grade class to Washington, D.C.

At Glenbrook South, he serves as Program Coordinator for the Marching Titans and co-directs the jazz ensembles and pep band. He was instrumental in launching the school’s Indoor Percussion Ensemble and has led performances at venues including Swing 46 in New York City and Main Street, U.S.A. at Walt Disney World.

Krejci holds degrees in Music Education and Music Performance from the University of Iowa and earned his Master of Music Education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2024. While at Iowa, he performed with a variety of ensembles, including the Symphony Orchestra and Latin Jazz Band.

A former member of the Hawkeye Marching Band, he performed in both the Big Ten Championship and the Rose Bowl. He also marched four years in the World Class Drum and Bugle Corps with Jersey Surf and the Colts, where he served as baritone section leader and later worked with the Colt Cadets.

Krejci remains active as a clinician throughout the Chicagoland area. Outside of music, he enjoys hiking with his dog, Otto.
